Bosener Mühle Arts Centre in Bosen
The Bosener Mühle (Bosen Mill) Arts Centre is located directly on Lake Bostalsee. The period from which the former flour mill originated can no longer be traced back, but it did have a large barn added to it in 1870. Owing to lack of profitability, mill operations had to be stopped in the early 1930s. The administrate district of St. Wendel County acquired the mill in 1977 and developed it into an arts centre as part of the development and construction undertaken at Lake Bostalsee. The Bosener Mühle Arts Centre is both a cultural and arts venue. Exhibitions, events and an in-house café attract guests throughout the year. The arts centre offers art courses and workshops for committed amateurs and advanced students. In addition to many other artistic disciplines (painting, graphics, photography, wrought ironwork, sculpture), ceramics is one of the major subjects among the range of courses on offer. The courses are led by experienced teachers from all over Europe. The Bosener Mühle Arts Centre also rents out holiday apartments.
The "Kunst + Kultur-Café" offers breakfast in the morning (reservation recommended!) and from midday onwards also offers light lunches or sandwiches and home-made cakes.
