Water sports

Lake Bostalsee is an eldorado for water sports enthusiasts:
Cruising on a sailing boat, paddling on a stand up paddle board, gliding along on a windsurfing board or
exploring the bottom of the lake in your diving gear.

Favourable wind conditions and an optimal infrastructure make Lake Bostalsee the ideal location for sailors and surfers alike.
There are 210 water and 120 land moorings for sailing boats at the marina. In addition, the regional association of sailing (LVSS), also offers numerous water and land moorings. Boats are limited to a (total) length of 8 m. Regattas take place regularly on Lake Bostalsee throughout the season.

Surfers meet up at the surfer's point on the banks of the lake in Gonnesweiler. There are storage spaces for surfboards at the depot. Surfboards may also be stored at the marina and with the aforesaid regional association of sailing. A basic windsurfing licence is required to surf on the lake. Kite surfing is not allowed on Lake Bostalsee. Jet surfing and other electric surfing equipment and boards are also not allowed on Lake Bostalsee.

You can also glide across the lake on a stand up paddle board.

Experienced divers can explore a sunken ship at the bottom of the lake, gain new skills on the training platform and make the acquaintance of the lake's underwater cow "Betsy".

If you want to get to the other side of the lake fast, hop on the Lagoliner passenger ferry. It makes scheduled stops at the tourist information centre, the reservoir dam plateau and the Center Parcs jetty.
